About Ibanez
Ibanez is a guitar and bass manufacturer based in Japan. Its name derives from Spanish luthier Salvador Ibañez, whose excellent guitars were distributed in Japan by Hoshino Gakki. The 1929 recession affected the company, leading to its closure in 1933. The Japanese market was left underserved, so in 1935 the importer decided to start manufacturing Spanish-style guitars under the name "Ibanez Salvador," which later changed to simply "Ibanez."
