British fusion guitarist Tom Quayle has received a sleek signature model from Ibanez based on the popular AZ series. The TQM2-CU is a contemporary take on the classic ST model with HSS hardware. The body is made of alder combined with a maple top, while the one-piece neck is crafted from roasted maple—a thermally treated maple wood that offers the stability and tonal characteristics of very old tonewoods—and features a rosewood fingerboard. The hardware is supplied by Japanese specialist Gotoh, including locking Magnum tuners and the T1702 tremolo developed in collaboration with Ibanez. The electronics system is equally impressive: an Ibanez TQM HSS pickup set paired with the Dyna-MIX circuit provides a wide range of tonal options.

Ibanez Signature
The Signature series features various Ibanez models, each tailored to the artist's needs with more or less extensive modifications. The core idea behind Signature guitars is that the artist can replace "their" guitar anywhere in the world, allowing musicians to play the same model as their idol. Many features of Signature guitars have now been incorporated into mass production.
About Ibanez
Ibanez is a guitar and bass manufacturer based in Japan. The name derives from Spanish luthier Salvador Ibáñez, whose excellent guitars were distributed in Japan by Hoshino Gakki. The company was affected by the 1929 recession and closed in 1933. The Japanese market was left underserved, prompting the importer to start manufacturing Spanish guitars under the name "Ibanez Salvador" in 1935, which later became simply "Ibanez".
