About Ibanez
Ibanez is a manufacturer of guitars and basses based in Japan. Its name honors the Spanish luthier Salvador Ibanez, whose excellent guitars were distributed in Japan by Hoshino Gakki. The 1929 recession impacted the company, leading to its closure in 1933. The Japanese market was left without supply, so in 1935, the importer began manufacturing Spanish guitars independently and distributed them under the name "Ibanez Salvador." Later, the brand was simply renamed "Ibanez".
