Although ESP was founded in 1975 as a small repair shop in Tokyo, it was really in the mid-80s when our guitars and basses caught the attention of musicians worldwide. The LTD '87 series are faithful recreations of this set of instruments from the ESP catalog of 1987. Unlike the current single-cutaway Eclipse shape, the original ESP Eclipse was based on the TE archtop shape, which is the foundation of the LTD Eclipse '87.
This guitar features a neck-through construction with a mahogany body and a three-piece maple neck. The '87 series Eclipse models come equipped with Seymour Duncan '59 (neck) and JB (bridge) pickups (with original-style bobbins and a push-pull coil-splitting switch) and a Floyd Rose-1000 locking tremolo.
