"Breathe" by Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix's live performance of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at Woodstock, and Robin Trower's "Bridge of Sighs" established the sound of a photocell-based vibrato effect as a standard in the electric guitar world. The JHS Pedals Unicorn is our take on this iconic effect, continuing the inspiring sounds of modulation, phase, and rotation that constantly push musical boundaries. Like the original units, it features a switch to toggle between the Uni-Vibe effect and traditional vibrato.
The Unicorn stands out from all other vibrato circuits because it is the first fully analog photocell-based vibrato effect with tap tempo, ratio, external tap control, and external frequency control via expression pedal. And it accomplishes all this with just four knobs and a mini switch. In an era where most ideas have already been explored, we present the first 100% analog photocell vibrato modulator with integrated tap tempo.

About JHS Pedals
JHS was founded in 2007 by Joshua Heath Scott, who used his initials for branding. Josh started by modifying BOSS pedals for himself and friends, soon developing his own circuits, such as the Morning Glory—one of his earliest pedals, inspired by the Marshall Bluesbreaker, which is still in production today. Over time, Josh has built a passionate team, elevating JHS to a prominent position in the global guitar effects scene.
