Description

Twin Peaks is a new Ibanez wah-wah pedal unlike any previous model. Most conventional wah-wah pedals use a single peak point to achieve the effect, but Twin Peaks doubles this sound by using dual peak points at higher and lower frequencies. This is accomplished through the use of dual inductor circuits. Additionally, blending the two frequency peaks can be controlled with a balance knob, inspiring rich sound experimentation with this exciting and entirely new Ibanez pedal.

BALANCE controls the mix ratio of the two maximum resonance levels created by the dual inductor circuit. The higher frequency provides a sweep range similar to most traditional wah pedals. The lower frequency is closer to what is typically found in modified or boutique wah pedals. Turning the BALANCE knob counterclockwise emphasizes the higher frequency peak, while turning it clockwise emphasizes the lower frequency peak.

The TONE switch selects the wah sweep frequency range, HIGH or LOW. HIGH: The highest frequency resonance sweeps from 670 Hz to 3 kHz, which is a higher range than typical wah pedals. Because of this, the tone may become too bright, so it is recommended to adjust the balance and level controls on the pedal, or the guitar’s tone control, to soften some of the higher frequencies. The lower frequency resonance sweeps from 300 Hz to 1 kHz, which is slightly lower than in traditional wah pedals. LOW This range covers what is typically used in standard wah pedals. The lower frequency resonance sweeps from 220 Hz to 750 Hz.

Master LEVEL controls the overall output level. It provides unity gain at 12 o'clock and up to +6 dB boost at maximum.

About Ibanez

Ibanez is a guitar and bass manufacturer based in Japan. Its name derives from the Spanish luthier Salvador Ibáñez, whose excellent guitars were distributed in Japan by Hoshino Gakki. The 1929 recession affected the company, which closed in 1933. The Japanese market was left without supply, so in 1935, the importer decided to start manufacturing Spanish guitars on its own and distributed them under the name "Ibanez Salvador." Later, the name was shortened to "Ibanez."
