Wood Types
Poplar, or 'basswood,' has a very soft density and is widely used in modern guitars. It produces a fairly thick, full-bodied sound. It shares some similarities with mahogany in terms of frequencies, but not in sustain, as it has a lower density.
The neck of this guitar is made from nato wood, which grows in South America and has properties very similar to mahogany, with slightly less tonal richness. It is commonly used in the necks of budget-friendly guitars.
About Gretsch
Gretsch was founded in 1883 in Brooklyn by Friederich Gretsch, who gained a solid reputation for manufacturing percussion instruments. In 1939, they introduced their first electric guitar, the Electromatic Spanish. Renowned artists like Chet Atkins have used instruments from this manufacturer, bringing them into the global spotlight.
