Magical Enhancement
For generations, top guitarists have relied on key analog gear to enhance their core sound. Although discontinued over 30 years ago, the CE-1 and RE-201 remain highly popular for their distinctive preamps and legendary analog effects. These “secret weapons” deliver a richer, rounder, and more satisfying tone—even when the effects are bypassed. With the BP-1W, you can incorporate the magical sound-shaping qualities of these legends into your own rig without hunting down rare and expensive original units.
Versatile Analog Sound Modeling
The BP-1W is one of the most flexible boost pedals available, offering three different modes in a compact design. In addition to the vintage CE and RE modes, a third mode provides a clean, crisp boost for more aggressive playing without coloring the tone. The Gain knob adjusts saturation and gain for each mode, while the Level knob balances the processed and unprocessed signals, further enhancing the sound of pedals and amps in your signal chain.
Choose Your Tone Color
CE: Reproduces the iconic bright, shimmering preamp sound of the CE-1, known for its clear definition and strong bass response. Adjust the Gain to explore a range of tones from smooth to aggressive.
RE: Mimics the unique tonal character and response of the RE-201 preamp circuitry. Achieve a thicker, warmer sound even at minimum gain, and increase saturation as you turn up the dial. Perfect for powerful, saturated tones with excellent analog compression, delivering a vintage vibe ideal for pedals and amps.
NAT: Provides a full-bodied, natural voice with minimal coloration. The modern Waza Craft analog circuitry offers a broad boost range with excellent performance in standard clean boost applications.
Two Premium Buffers
The BP-1W features high-quality buffer circuitry with two selectable types. Use the switch on the back panel to choose between a pure standard buffer or a vintage buffer with lower input impedance. The vintage buffer produces a warmer sound and more dynamic response, ideal for connecting a passive pickup guitar directly into the BP-1W. The standard buffer is always active to condition the signal when the pedal is bypassed, regardless of the buffer switch setting.
