The Gretsch Streamliner CVT is a solid-body, double-cutaway electric guitar that combines a classic retro-inspired aesthetic with simple, comfortable, and rock-oriented construction. Its mahogany body features beveled contours and a rounded heel for easier access to the upper frets, while the mahogany neck with a Fast “C” profile provides a quick and manageable feel.
Its two Gretsch HotWire High Output Ceramic Humbucker pickups deliver a powerful, defined signal with the push needed for riffs, distorted chords, and solos with presence. The compensated Wrap-Around bridge, Graph Tech NuBone nut, and Pitch-Perfect headstock angle design contribute to a direct response, good sustain, and stable tuning.

Our Opinion
This new Streamliner CVT seems like a very suitable guitar for those looking to get into Gretsch, offering a more straightforward and rock-oriented alternative to their traditional hollow body models. It features simple electronics, is comfortable to play, and its pickups provide enough output for distorted tones without sounding soft or lacking definition.
We especially recommend it as a first serious guitar, for rehearsal use, or for players who need an electric guitar without complications for rock, punk, garage, and alternative styles. It does not aim to deliver the open, distinctive sound of classic Filter’Tron pickups; the priority here is to achieve more punch, sustain, and ease of working with overdrive and distortion.
