The PRS 57/08 Neck pickup is a vintage-inspired humbucker designed to emulate the character of pickups manufactured in the late 1950s. Originally introduced in 2008, it features vintage-style wire wound at PRS facilities and an Alnico 2 magnet to deliver a warm, open, and dynamic sound.
Its neck position provides well-defined bass, expressive mids, and smooth highs, avoiding an overly dark or muddy tone. Additionally, it has been calibrated using PRS's TCI process to achieve a balanced and musical response. Its wiring allows for versatile electronic configurations, including three-way switches, push-pull systems, and five-position selectors.

Our Opinion
This pickup is especially recommended for players seeking a warm, full-bodied neck sound that maintains clarity when playing chords or adding overdrive. It works very well for blues, classic rock, jazz, and clean tones with personality, responding naturally to picking intensity and the guitar’s volume and tone controls.
