About Ibanez
Ibanez is a guitar and bass manufacturer based in Japan. Its name is derived from Spanish luthier Salvador Ibáñez, whose excellent guitars were distributed in Japan by Hoshino Gakki. The 1929 recession affected the company, which closed in 1933. The Japanese market was left underserved, prompting the importer in 1935 to start manufacturing Spanish guitars independently, distributing them under the name "Ibanez Salvador." Later, the brand was simply renamed "Ibanez".
