The Fender California Vintage Palomino is a medium-sized auditorium-style acoustic-electric guitar featuring an innovative Performance-X bracing. Its lightweight construction includes a solid Sitka spruce top and solid ovangkol back and sides, which facilitate the production of a precise and versatile sound with exceptional clarity, balance, and nuance.
An ergonomic "Modern V" profile was chosen for the okoume neck, along with a 25.5” (648 mm) scale length that provides optimal sustain. Its reverse-angled headstock, with six aligned tuning machines and a maple veneer, gives it a distinctive look marked by the DNA of Fender electric guitars. The instrument also features an ovangkol fingerboard with binding, rectangular pearloid inlays that lend a retro appearance, vintage-style tuning machines for smooth and accurate tuning, while its nut and saddle made of bone contribute to its magnificent harmonic character.
The Fishman Sonitone Plus preamp system is designed for live performance. Its controls, located in the soundhole, allow blending the sound of a piezo pickup installed under the bridge with that of a transducer inside the body.
