About Ibanez
Ibanez is a manufacturer of guitars and basses based in Japan. Its name originates from the Spanish luthier Salvador Ibanez, whose excellent guitars were distributed in Japan by Hoshino Gakki. The recession of 1929 affected the company, leading to its closure in 1933. The Japanese market was left underserved, so in 1935, the importer decided to start manufacturing Spanish guitars independently, distributing them under the name "Ibanez Salvador." Later, the brand was simply called "Ibanez".
