The Yamaha CPX series electro-acoustic guitars were born in the 1990s, designed with comfort and versatility in mind, aiming to expand the APX concept into a new range of deeper bodies with a different tonal character. Built for live performance, the CPX models deliver a rich, full sound and feature an internal design resistant to feedback. The ubiquitous cutaway allows easy access to the higher frets on the fingerboard. In the 21st century, the new CPX II series brings a refreshed lineup in terms of models, finishes, and technology, thanks to the inclusion of the revolutionary S.R.T. (Studio Response Technology) preamp in the higher-end models. Yamaha’s exclusive Studio Response Technology (SRT) preamp system delivers the authentic natural feel and organic sensations of an acoustic guitar, straight from the jack output. Using an exclusive digital modeling technique, the SRT preamp recreates the sonic parameters of four acoustic elements that conventional preamps overlook: the natural resonance of the body, the environment, the characteristics of the finest vintage microphones, and professional miking techniques, providing the best guitar tone achievable in a professional studio. The CPX1200II model features an upgraded headstock with a black finish, a new rosette with mahogany inlays, a solid spruce top, solid rosewood back and sides, a mahogany neck, and an ebony bridge and fingerboard. It includes a Deluxe foam-type case in the price and is available in black or sunburst finishes.
