4-string electric bass from the Ibanez Mode series, MDM1000MAM Midnight Arctic Ocean Matte finish.
- Ibanez Delta S4J passive pickups with a 3-band Sonitech S preamp
- Hexa Mid system with six selectable mid frequencies
- MR5S bridge with adjustable string spacing
The Ibanez MDM1000 belongs to the Mode series, a lineup that combines the character of classic basses with features tailored for today's bassist. Its alder body and rosewood fingerboard provide a balanced response, while the toasted maple MDM4 neck and body design ensure comfortable playability and easy access to all 24 frets.
The combination of two passive Delta S4J pickups with the Ibanez Sonitech S 3-band preamp offers extensive sound-shaping capabilities. The Hexa Mid system allows you to select six different mid frequencies, while the push/pull control bypasses the EQ for a more direct response. The MR5S bridge also allows individual string spacing adjustments, making this bass especially versatile for both live performance and studio work.

Our Opinion
The MDM1000 is an especially appealing option for players seeking the familiar feel and punch of a traditional bass, but with much greater sound-shaping flexibility. Its electronics provide a wide range of tones, from more traditional sounds to highly defined mid adjustments suitable for slap, fingerstyle, or prominent lines within a mix. Plus, its modern, comfortable design with 24 frets makes it a highly versatile instrument for bassists who need flexibility without resorting to more complex pickup configurations.
