The Mad Professor Milestone HandWired is a germanium fuzz pedal designed to recreate the character of early fuzz circuits inspired by vintage mixing consoles, but adapted for modern pedalboards. Its response is highly dynamic and touch-sensitive, allowing a transition from more open and defined sounds to more intense saturation depending on playing technique and instrument settings.
It features a two-band EQ with Bass and Treble controls to tailor the fuzz character to different guitars, amplifiers, and even basses. One of its most notable features is its transformer-circuit, which enables placement after buffers or other pedals without losing the typical character and sensitivity of a germanium fuzz. Part of Mad Professor's HandWired series, it is handcrafted in Tampere, Finland.

Our Opinion
The Milestone is particularly interesting because it maintains the organic, responsive character of a germanium fuzz while overcoming one of the classic limitations of this type of circuit: poor compatibility with buffers and other pedals placed in front. This allows for greater flexibility when integrating it into a modern pedalboard without necessarily reserving the first position in the signal chain. Additionally, the two-band EQ offers plenty of room to tailor the fuzz to your gear, making it also very effective with bass.
