About Ibanez
Ibanez is a manufacturer of guitars and basses based in Japan. The name comes from Spanish luthier Salvador Ibañez, whose excellent guitars were distributed in Japan by Hoshino Gakki. The 1929 recession affected the company, leading to its closure in 1933. The Japanese market was left underserved, so in 1935, the importer decided to start manufacturing Spanish guitars on their own, distributing them under the name "Ibanez Salvador." Later, the brand was simply changed to "Ibanez".
