The Tres S Cubano by Prudencio Saez is a Cuban tres crafted in the traditional Cuban style, combining Spanish luthiers' expertise and craftsmanship. The Tres S Cubano features a body made of sapeli, a rosewood fingerboard, a cedar neck, a rosewood bridge, and a solid cedar top.

Tuning of the Cuban Tres
The instrument has three courses of double strings, octave-tuned on at least one course. Its tuning varies depending on the player and the region of origin. Sometimes it matches the tuning of the first three strings of a guitar (E, B, and G, with the G octave), other times a semitone is added to the middle pair, resulting in a tuning of E, C, and G (octave), producing a C major chord at open strings. Another common tuning is based on the D major triad, which is: F# (F sharp), D, and A, with the A string octave-tuned.
