About Ibanez Bass Workshop
For over 40 years, Ibanez has been pioneering new frontiers in bass development, pushing the boundaries of conventional designs to meet the needs of bassists of all styles and skill levels seeking new ways to express themselves. This spirit of exploration has led to the creation of some of the most successful and popular production basses of all time. It is this same drive to bring innovative and relevant ideas to the forefront that forms the foundation of an ongoing exploratory project, aptly named the Ibanez Bass Workshop.
The motivation behind each of these unique instruments comes from the personal desire of one or more members of the Ibanez bass development team to meet very specific bassist needs. These inventions may not be for everyone, but for those eager to explore new sonic perspectives through the bass: the Ibanez Bass Workshop project might be exactly what you're looking for.
About Ibanez
Ibanez is a guitar and bass manufacturer based in Japan. Its name comes from the Spanish luthier Salvador Ibañez, whose excellent guitars were distributed in Japan by Hoshino Gakki. The 1929 recession affected the company, which closed in 1933. The Japanese market was left without supply, so in 1935 the importer decided to start manufacturing Spanish guitars on its own and distributed them under the name "Ibanez Salvador." Later, the name was changed to "Ibanez".
