Playing your favorite tube amplifier with the perfect speaker at bedroom volume is a unique and unforgettable experience. Thanks to the Torpedo Captor, you can do this at bedroom levels. Even allowing silent recording late at night.
The backache from carrying heavy gear, complaints from neighbors, venue staff, or bandmates, and the frustration of not being able to sound your best while trying to keep the volume down are a thing of the past. The Torpedo Captor has been designed to meet the needs of direct recording or microphone capturing of any guitar or bass amplifier, whether live or in the studio.
What is a reactive load box?
To play your amplifier without a speaker cabinet, you need a load box, also known as a Reactive Loadbox. This device uses reactive technology, which perfectly emulates the impedance of a speaker. Your amplifier will believe it’s connected to a real speaker cabinet. Two notes is renowned for manufacturing load boxes that are among the most accurate and feature-rich in the world.
Speaker simulation
When using the Captor on stage connected directly to the PA system, you’ll need to refine the sound coming from the amplifier. The analog speaker simulator is derived from the acclaimed Le Preamp series. You can achieve a detailed, focused sound suitable for monitors and PA, all while keeping stage volume low. The Torpedo Wall Of Sound is a free plugin that includes a vast collection of virtual cabinets and microphone options for the ultimate direct recording solution.
Attenuator
If you want to keep your speaker cabinet on stage or in your room, the Captor features a THRU or ATT speaker output. It allows full volume or a fixed attenuation of -20 dB. This helps keep your amplifier in its optimal operating range with manageable volumes.
- Impedance of 16 Ohms
- Power handling up to 100W
