Individual notes gain more harmonics and sustain, power chords become thicker and crunchier, and complex chords remain clear and detailed.

The Special Cranker offers the same dynamic, touch-sensitive, and spongy feel as the original Speaker Cranker but with more gain, twice the output volume (now with a dedicated Level control), a new Tone control, and a diode selector switch to choose between the original asymmetric silicon diodes and a new germanium diode option.

The More control ranges from an almost clean sound to moderate overdrive by adjusting transistor bias, so you might hear some noise when turning the knob, which is completely normal. Gain characteristics depend on the selected diodes.

Germanium diodes provide a smoother, rounder response with controlled highs and lower output, while silicon diodes deliver a brighter, more modern tone with higher output. The Tone control cuts or slightly boosts the highs. At maximum Level, the output volume nearly doubles.
