About Ibanez
Ibanez is a guitar and bass manufacturer based in Japan. Its name honors Spanish luthier Salvador Ibanez, whose excellent guitars were distributed in Japan by Hoshino Gakki. The 1929 recession impacted the company, leading to its closure in 1933. The Japanese market was left without supply, so in 1935, the importer decided to start manufacturing Spanish guitars independently, distributing them under the name "Ibanez Salvador." Later, the brand was simply called "Ibanez".
