There are three principles behind the Ibanez Prestige line: precision, performance, and comfort. The Prestige guitars combine high-tech manufacturing techniques with old-school Japanese craftsmanship to achieve true innovation in design and build quality. The series incorporates ideas and suggestions from musicians around the world as foundational elements of the Prestige production process.
The Prestige fretboard treatment is a distinctive feature of this range. This technique involves carefully working the fret to ensure it is as rounded as possible, resulting in an ultra-smooth and fast feel on the neck.
About S-Tech
The special S-TECH torrefied treatment enhances stability, durability, water resistance, and the wood's tolerance to temperature changes. The neck is sealed with an oil finish that helps it feel similar to a well-played guitar neck.
The treatment provides superior attack and a well-balanced tone with rich sustain. To maximize comfort, the edges of the fingerboard are rounded.
About Ibanez
Ibanez is a guitar and bass manufacturer based in Japan. The name derives from Spanish luthier Salvador Ibañez, whose excellent guitars were distributed in Japan by the Hoshino Gakki company. The 1929 recession affected the firm, which closed in 1933. The Japanese market was left underserved, so in 1935 the importer began producing Spanish guitars under the name "Ibanez Salvador" and later simply "Ibanez".
