Few guitars are as iconic as Eddie Van Halen's favorite six-string companion, affectionately known as "Frankenstein." This guitar was Eddie's attempt to blend the sound of a single-cut solid-body classical guitar with the physical attributes and functionality of a Fender Stratocaster tremolo bar. The EVH Frankenstein "Frankie" series is a civilian variant of Eddie Van Halen's legendary red, black, and white Frankenstrat guitar, complete with a relic worn finish.
Built from a solid piece of alder, this solid-body electric guitar roars with the best of them, while delivering rock-solid mids that can cut through a manic rhythm section with ease. A Wolfgang direct-mount humbucker achieves Eddie’s classic tone, especially when used to drive a high-gain amplifier.
Equipped with a sleek quarter-sawn maple neck and a relic-style, fast-radius maple fingerboard, this guitar is born to shred. Intentionally positioned against the body, the Floyd Rose equipped with the exclusive D-Tuna allows you to emulate Eddie’s guitar. The signature tremolo system operates effortlessly and provides instant access to Drop D tuning. The EVH Frankenstein series models are packed with Van Halen’s classic vibe, but most importantly, they deliver spectacular tone and ultrafast playability.
About EVH
The initials EVH immediately bring to mind extravagant riffs and solos by guitarist Edward Van Halen. Alongside Peavey, Eddie collaborated on the creation of his guitar, the EVH Wolfgang, named after his son. Shortly after, in 2009, he launched his own signature line, which is still endorsed by Fender today.
