About Ibanez
Ibanez is a guitar and bass manufacturer based in Japan. The name comes from Spanish luthier Salvador Ibañez, whose excellent guitars were distributed in Japan by Hoshino Gakki. The 1929 recession affected the company, which closed in 1933. The Japanese market was left underserved, so in 1935, the importer decided to start manufacturing Spanish guitars on their own and distributed them under the name "Ibanez Salvador." Later, the name was changed to "Ibanez".
