About Ibanez
Ibanez is a guitar and bass manufacturer based in Japan. Its name is derived from Spanish luthier Salvador Ibáñez, whose excellent guitars were distributed in Japan by Hoshino Gakki. The recession of 1929 affected the company, which closed in 1933. The Japanese market became underserved, so in 1935 the importer decided to start manufacturing Spanish guitars on their own, distributing them under the name "Ibanez Salvador". Later, the name was changed to "Ibanez".
